This guitar quartet was written at the request of my students, who wanted to play a piece of Cuban music. I decided to please them by writing a Cha Cha. There are no major difficulties, except for the rhythmic precision specific to this style. The bass line must sing clearly and be practiced with a metronome to keep a steady tempo — the same goes for Guitar 3. It’s also important to work carefully on the accents to capture the true spirit of the music. I drew inspiration from Suavito by the master of the genre, Arturo SANDOVAL.
