Description

This serie has been conceived for the guitarists of beginner to intermediate levels.

An essential teaching tool!

What a fascinating little piece! Garafalia is in 7/8 time in A minor, and I can see many an intermediate ensemble cursing each other and smacking their own foreheads and arguing about who exactly went wrong where in the rhythm. Set in 3/8+4/8, much of the writing is arpeggios in p,i,m,p,i,p,i, which is easy and pleasing, and the tough acts are the tune and bass that a novice will find hard to play correctly without throwing beat numbers into the air like plates in a taverna. But once the frustration and irritation of the rhythm is smashed against the floor and the music allowed to flow, this is really rather good! Player four plays bass, whilst player three ventures into fifth position (one of the few markings on the page). Player two needs top A, and player one has some very easy under the fingers tenth position. Magnificently modal melody, amazingly articulate arpeggios and beautifully bouncy bass. Enjoy!
