Description

6 guitars (guitar VI - optional bass)

This piece is written for five guitars and a bass, with the first three guitars sharing the big guns and the other two having rather less to do and being moderately less advanced. The first 23 bars are a gradual crescendo based around rasgueados chords ending on a B7 with a pause. Then everything fragments as Guitar 1 has arpeggios whilst Guitar 2 has a fragment of main theme. Guitar 3 helps out Guitar 1 with pattems whilst Guitar 4 begins pizzicato and then reverts to runs whilst Guitar 5 and the bass mostly hold long notes. There are plenty of opportunities for fireworks as the interplay continues with runs, portions of percussion, lots of rasgueados and a general air of excitement. At 140 bars this is of modest size and might interest the talented amateurs amongst you who are of relatively modest abilities. Nicely presented.
