Description

This exciting, rhythmic and inventive composition is constantly driven ever-forwards with its many changes of time signature and accentuations. The majority of the work is flavoured by the fact of the sixth string being tuned down a sernitone to Eb; thus, there are many colourful, exotic harmonies throughout which lifts this piece into the 'above average' category.
Technically, it is a difficult work; to obtain the true effects the composer obviously wants, requires a very strong left hand technique, but the end result would more than justify these demands.
All in all, an excellent concert item, which I very much look forward to hearing performed.
(Steve Marsh, Classical Guitar, 4/2001)
