Description

The sixth and fifth strings tuned respectively to D and G give the composer the opportunity to create harmonies not able to be heard in standard tuning. The musical ideas created in this work sound novel and well thought out and each new idea unfolds comfortably and leisurely into the next one conjuring up a contemporary mood with the occasional Eastern ambience.
Pollen is a work of «atmosphere« rather than having any strong memorable melodic line and a lightness of touch from the player will be essential to make this piece succeed.
This is an enjoyable composition to play through, suitable for the Grade 6+ guitarist. The work is nicely presented with helpful fingering suggestions.
