AERTS Bart

Born in Belgium, Bart Aerts played at the beginning of his musical career the mandolin and the mandola in a plectrum orchestra. Afterwards he began playing his most favorite instrument, namely the guitar.

Bart Aerts studied at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels where he obtained First Prizes of music theory, guitar and chamber music. Besides he has followed courses in harmony, practical harmony and music history.

Thereafter he studied in the same institution a three-year course to achieve his Concert Certificate. He holds a master of arts degree.

As a composer Bart Aerts is self-taught. He composes mainly for pedagogical purposes, for children and youth. For this target group he won recently a prize in the finals of a composition contest called the “International Composition Competition La Mancha-guitars” in Eppelborn, Germany.
