The musician and composer Cristian Marcia was born in Quartu Sant Elena (Italy). He studied from an early age at the National Conservatory of Cagliari G. After winning several national and international guitar competitions, he won a scholarship to continue his education in Paris. Cristian studied there at the prestigious École Normale de Musique A. Cortot de Paris, with Alberto Ponce and Rafael Andia while passing the Musicology and Ethnomusicology Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Paris.

Cristian Marcia is a much sought-after soloist and chamber music player. After his debut in Paris as a soloist with the International Ensemble of Paris (playing with them a tournée all over France), the musician played in some of the world’s most famous halls: Salle Gaveau, Salle Cortôt, Unesco Auditorium of Paris, Seoul Art Center, Cagliari Teatro Lirico, among others. He is also greatly in demand as a chamber music partner. He collaborated namely with the soloists of the Opéra Bastille of Paris, Gérard Caussé, Pierre Amoyal, Caterina Murino, the Modigliani Quartet, The Quatuor Hermès, The Quatuor Van Kuijk, Mihaela Martin, Frans Helmerson and Nobuko Imai.

Cristian Marcia teaches at the Conservatory of Music in Paris and is often invited as a guest teacher at some of the most prestigious musical academies of Japan, Corea, Italy and France. In 2001 he founded the International Music Academy of Cagliari which was recognized by the Unesco of Paris for its excellence. The same year, he founded the Festival Le Notti Musicali di Cagliari and has served as its artistic director since then. World famous guest artists and schools of music collaborated with the Academy and the Festival; namely the CNSM of Paris, the École Normale Supérieure A. Cortot de Paris, Geddai University of Tokyo, Mozarteum of Salszbourg, Der Kunste University of Berlin, Royal College of London, Julliard School of New York. Since 2008, Cristian Marcia is the artistic director the Unesco Concert Gala of Paris La Sardaigne: la Musique au cœur de la Méditerranée, from which he is also the founder.  This event was created to support the development of musical culture and promote young musical talents. In 2019, Cristian initiated the project Bentu de Notas, an innovative multimedia show that was presented in the natural park Molentargius to promote the history of the territory of Sardinia. He composed for the event the Mediterranean Suite, a piece written in a minimalist style and conceptually inspired by visual arts, dance and theater. A year later, he presented Ambiens, a multidisciplinary project where hypnotic and contemplative music, projections and water led the public on a journey through the natural landscapes of the public gardens and the Municipal Art Gallery of Cagliari. The minimalist piece Is Stasonis was composed for the event and is inspired by the four seasons of Sardinia.
