Description

For this publication Jürg Kindle has taken three famous classic poems by the poet and author Edgar Allan Poe and set them to music. They are 'A Dream', 'Alone' and 'Dreamland'. In the guitar accompaniments, he uses a good variety of ideas that flow with a tangible ease of style. Liberally adding harmonics to good effect, not easy to work out but easy to play once known. The guitar parts have plenty of repetition, and are pitched at a level that most competent players can cope with and the standard for the guitarist is around grade V and above. In the songs, he has managed to capture a sense of drama. The standard for the Singer would be around grade IV but rather than vocal prowess the songs need dramatic input, and for the Singer to have a good imagination and a strong sense of theatre. Both parts are crafted to connect together well, and they move forward seamlessly. In his tuneful contemporary style, Jurg Kindle has transferred the creative energy of the powerful words of Edgar Allan Poe into well-crafted songs.
