Seymour Bernstein Triumphs at the Piano” (Donal Henahan, The New York Times) Seymour Bernstein, internationally known pianist, teacher, composer, writer, and lecturer has won innumerable prizes and grants—among them, First Prize and Prix Jacques Durand at Fontainebleau, France, the National Federation of Music Clubs Award for Furthering American Music Abroad, a Beebe Foundation grant, two Martha Baird Rockefeller grants, and four State Department grants. His concert career has taken him to the Americas, Europe and Asia where he has appeared in solo recitals and as guest artist with orchestras and chamber music groups. On December 18, 2004, he was awarded an honorary degree, Doctor of Music, from Shenandoah University. The documentary Seymour—An Introduction, produced by the eminent actor Ethan Hawke, continues to screen worldwide.
