Robert Strizich has led a multi-faceted musical career now spanning well over three decades. As a composer, Strizich has written works for orchestra, chorus, chamber ensembles, solo instruments and electroacoustic media, and his music has been played throughout the United States, as well as in Europe and South America. As a performer, he is noted for his concerts and recordings of early music in both North America and Europe. As a scholar and editor, he is known not only for his research in the field of early plucked instruments, but also for his complete editions of the music of Gaspar Sanz and Robert de Visée. Strizich’s creative work and research have been recognized by a number of grants, awards and fellowships in the USA, including those from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Wurlitzer Foundation.
