Description

Renaissance Polyphony created by Dusan Bogdanovic, is based on step-by-step instruction of the XVI-century polyphony comprising all the fundamentals of the Renaissance form and style including many examples from the relevant literature. The book contains species counterpoint in two and three voices, chapters on modal systems, imitation, cadences, intabulations as well as variation and improvisation. The central section of the book is analysis of two masterpieces by the great Renaissance composers F. Canova da Milano and John Dowland. The book also includes biographies of the composers, so the students can fully immerse themselves in the fascinating world of the XVI-century Renaissance polyphony.
