Délia, opus 272

There seems to be no let-up in French composer Francis Kleynjans' compositional outpourings. I personally have reviewed many new works by him over the years and this piece is listed as his 'opus 272' (although it states that he has written over 700). Anyone familiar with his style will not be surprised to learn that this one is very pleasant on the ear and has a nice melody line floating above an arpeggio of well-chosen chords. The work, in the style of a milonga and written in C minor, is a mournful, languid piece very well crafted to get the best use of the guitar resonances. Delia is dedicated lo Delia Estrada and at only one-and-a-half minutes in length doesn't outstay its welcome. Ideally suited to the Grade 5 player.
