These two pieces are featured on the Mandala label CD «Latino - Ladino« where Ricardo Moyano is joined by guitarist Liat Cohen. Both compositions are merry little lightweight romps which ripple and rush through their eight minutes or so duration. Compositionally they take the form of conversational duets with the melodic lines being interwoven between the two instrumentalists with Bego la Parra in the style of a South American «Vals« and Ladino paying more than a passing nod to the «invention« style of Bach.
They are confidently crafted compositions and exhibit many of the characteristic traits one expects from South American works and anyone remotely interested in the music from this part of the world should not be disappointed.
The duets are really only appropriate to duos of higher-intermediate standard. The presentation is excellent with full score and pull out parts.
