Leonardo Bravo, Argentine Classical Guitarist, holds a degree in Music and Guitar from the Music Department of the National University of Rosario, Argentina. He has won first prizes in several prestigious classical guitar competitions. As a performer, he has developed an extensive career, giving concerts and masterclasses, participating in numerous international guitar festivals across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
In addition to performing classical guitar repertoire, Leonardo’s concerts often feature music from Latin America and his native Argentina, including tango and folklore music. He works closely with Argentine composers and also creates his own compositions and arrangements. Some of his pieces have been selected as mandatory for guitar competitions and included in Universities repertoires and exam books. He has recorded several solo CDs, collaborated with other musicians, and recorded with different ensembles.
In 2008, he was honored with the “Joan C. Edwards Distinguished Professor of Fine Arts” award by Marshall University’s College of Fine Arts, USA.
From 1991 to 2003, Leonardo served as Professor of Guitar at the National University of Rosario. In 2003, he relocated to Japan, where he has continued his work as both teacher and performer, playing with renowned Japanese musicians and touring internationally. Since 2009, he has been a professor at the Gendai Guitar Music Academy in Tokyo.
In addition to his work as a teacher and performer, Leonardo also writes articles and offers regular courses on tango and Latin American music.
