A delightful short work dedicated to the composer's son, Nicolas. This is a piece which should command a lot of performances with many opportunities to explore differing textures in the harmonies. Having no technical difficulties other than making the melody sing (probably the hardest thing to do for the guitarist the music has a natural flow, the melody moving between six-eight and three-four time. This is a joy to learn, play or hear; it makes a wonderful solo in a student concert or a succinct encore to a recital. Oh yes, it also fits the bill as “something more tuneful” to play to those long suffering guitar widows!
