Description

A few years ago d'OZ produced their lOOOth edition and to commemorate this they devoted the entire album to Annette Kruisbrink's massive 31-movement solo guitar suite The Four Seasons, a work which I said at the time was probably their finest publication. In 2011 d'OZ then produced a 25th anniversary album featuring 25 compositions from composers in their catalogue and once again Kruisbrink had the “honour” of finishing off this album in calm and elegant style with her solo guitar piece Tendresse.
This short and delicate work has an ethereal quality to it, the space allowed between phrases, sparse harmonisation and simple melodic lines all adding to this characteristic. Quite simply, this is a lovely composition written by a very capable writer. Suitable for the Intermediate player. Recommended.
