Description

voice (or melodic instrument) and guitar

This is a short song with only a few words, or more precisely vowel sounds for the singer to intone. There is an intimate relationship between the two lines of music, with a middle range of notes for a vocalist of either sex. I particularly liked the instruction at the end, which said «bouche fermée« - literally mouth shut. It is composed in an abstract form, and the song is almost like a vocal exercise. Detailed fingerings are given for both hands in the guitar part and for instructions on interpretation The standard would be around grade V and above for the guitarist, and possibly a little lower than this for the singer. There is also a brief biography of the composer in French. Inside the notation is sharp, and easy to read. At three pages long with no extra verses, this is a short song, lasting perhaps one minute 30 seconds.
