Description

Three of the guitars have a detuned bottom string in this arrangement. I first read the score while listing to a full orchestra version, and this arrangement is faithful to the key and the general dynamic markings of the original. The sheer speed and digital dexterity needed when this piece is played at the speed of the original mean that this is for the very best of players only. The guitars are an octave below the original, leading to a heavy sound in the cello section even when the third guitar is at fret 19 on the top string. (.) The opening section is going to be tricky without a conductor, who will completely superfluous once the music gets going. (.) With a suitable team of players, it's a very professional cost-effective arrangement.
