Francis Kleynjans is well known as a composer who has added many excellent pieces to the guitar repertory. This short piece, a mere two pages in length and lasting for only around a minute, is a revision of a Valse written originally in 1974, but reworked in 2004. The music is instantly appealing; using a 3/4 time signature the rhythm moves easily to 6/8 and then back to the 3/4; whilst one sees in the writing the influence of Lauro's VaIs Venezualano No 3, this Kleynjans' composition stands by itself. As usual, excellent presentation from this publisher, complete with the composer's dynamics and fingerings. It's a lovely piece to play written with obvious love for the instrument and this idiom.
