Caribena, which comes first, is an up tempo, rhythmically-exciting piece in a typical South American style with many frequent rhythmic changes. In contrast to this, Preludio en Verso has a nostalgic air to it, being of a very moody and contemplative nature. Paired together, these two offerings from Paraguayan composer Orlando Rojas Gimenez would make an ideal choice to consider for anyone with a love for this style of composition. The presentation is excellent and the technical standard is of around grade 7.
