Description

This serie has been conceived for the guitarists of beginner to intermediate levels.
An essential teaching tool!

I Maccheroni is a lively little piece in 6/8, naturally enough, that embodies completely the hallmark characteristics of the dance.
It's easy too, and the optional performance ligados from fretted notes to the open E in the introduction are such easy fun I can't imagine anyone missing them out.
There's no indication of speed, but the rhythm is so straightforward yet compelling that it's unlikely that any intermediate ensemble wouldn't be pushing themselves to the limit to go faster and faster. At the same time the piece is accessible to novices at a slower pace because it interlocks so effortlessly.
There are a few pungent discords (Eb against E, D and C for example), but they are gone in a flash and they are all part and parcel of giving each line a shape of phrase that's under the fingers and fun to play.
Barely a page of score per player, but with the repeats it's a piece that is substantial enough to delight. I fear that the cost of the cover and binding will mean this is not a lot cheaper than a more weighty book, but it's nicely original and an audience pleaser beyond doubt.
