Description

This homage to the great JSB is noticeably in his style; with a walking bass that plods gently underneath in slow quavers while the melody line weaves its arabesques round them. It is in three main sections; the first two repeated and the third, essentially a repeat of the first leading to a brief coda that ends on a very un-Bachian chord. The first section is very Bach-like in style but gradually in the 2nd section the harmonies move a little away to create a more modern feel, if only a little so. The difficulty factor is not too great and providing one realises that this is homage to Bach and not an attempt at a slavish copy of his musical style, then there is much to enjoy in this baroque homage.
