Concierto alegre for two guitars and orchestra was written in 1986. The music proceeds in a variety of ‘conversations’, with the orchestration kept sotto voce when the guitars are playing. In developing this piano reduction, made by Anne Duarte, it became obvious that the hand-written manuscript score contained several mistakes, as well as an absence of dynamic and articulation markings. These have been added and were used in the 2022 recording of the work.
