This suite in six movements represents a journey in the music of the southern Romania. The origins of this folklore contain multiple layers where we can notice local colours, oriental influences and byzantine traces, often called “from the Balkans”. Muntenia, like Dobrogea, it is the cultural core of Romania in which one can find a different kind of cultural diversity in the music tradition. All the dances of the suite are ritualic.
