Description

This piece is a memory of a small village of 500 inhabitants, Saint-Camille, near Sherbrooke in Quebec. It is there that the composer stayed, warmly welcomed as Quebecers know how to do, with his orchestra of the time, in order to tour several cities in the Belle Province: Quebec City, Montreal, Sherbrooke, Chicoutimi... A letter from Premier Robert Bourassa had then praised this Franco-Quebec initiative for its originality and the constructive sharing between the two nations. Among the musicians was a guitarist, Jacques Monteaux, to whom this piece is dedicated. It is by thinking of him and that distant and bygone era that a certain nostalgia was born in the heart of the composer.
