Thomas Schuttenhelm is a composer, guitarist, curator, and writer based in Philadelphia. His work explores resonance, memory, and the expressive possibilities of contemporary music through composition, performance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. His music has been performed by leading artists including Eliot Fisk, Jason Vieaux, Jiji, and Jordan Dodson. His artistic and research interests engage questions of listening, musical meaning, and the cultural contexts surrounding new music. Schuttenhelm serves as Artistic Director of Network for New Music and as Guitar Ambassador at the Free Library of Philadelphia, where he curates concerts and community-centered musical events.
