January 22, 2025 – On January 22, Éric Dussault, Publishing Director of Productions d’Oz and Doberman, was invited to Radio-Canada's Première Heure to discuss the launch of Doberman Musique (DM), a new record label dedicated to the marketing of classical music recordings, with a particular focus on classical guitar and contemporary Canadian music.
In this interview, Éric explained that Doberman Musique is the result of a natural evolution of Productions d’Oz and Doberman-Yppan, two affiliated publishing houses that decided to integrate the recording dimension into their activities to better support their artists and respond to the evolving music industry. In collaboration with partners such as Universal Music and Ad Litteram (ATMA Classique), Doberman Musique handles all stages of post-production, from conception to distribution, to ensure optimal distribution of the recordings of works in its catalog.
The launch of Doberman Musique also marked the release of more than 70 albums from the archives of Productions d'Oz and Doberman-Yppan, now available on all streaming platforms. These albums include classics such as Works for Two Pianos by Matton, Hétu, and Prévost, performed by Louise Bessette and Marc-André Hamelin, as well as The Music of Serge Garant, an anthology co-produced by Radio-Canada in 1992.
The show also highlighted Christian Genest's upcoming album, scheduled for release on April 25, 2025. A retired music teacher and guitarist, Genest will be one of the first artists to release an album under the Doberman Musique banner.
