Yamandou is a very attractive composition with a lush, short-lived opening of moody character, soon leading into the main body of the work which is of a melodic and flowing nature. Stylistically it has a South American flavour to it enhanced by the charming but brief 3:3:2 rhythmic pattem occurring near the beginning and the syncopation used sporadically in the rest of it. Ideally suited to the Grade 5 and above player this is a lovely addition to the ever-expanding solo guitar repertoire. Steve Marsh (Classical Guitar Magazine)
