These quartets are orchestrated so that guitar 1 gets to play all the juicy melodies in high positions, guitars 2 and 3 provide either a countermelody or the mid - harmonies, and guitar 4 has the bass part, which is the only line to have chords, all other three parts being single- note lines only. The pieces are contrasting enough, both rhythmically and melodically, to play as a 'set' of six pieces and would suite the amateur guitar group perfectly. The presentation is excellent, with separate parts for each player, and the level is of around the grade 2-3 standard.
