Appassionata is a romantic and attractive piece written in an arpeggio style throughout with a melody line emerging from the flowing semiquaver passages. It is one of those frustrating compositions which sound a lot easier than they are, and a good deal of smooth negotiating around the fingerboard will be required to make this a musical performance.
The Air et Gigue are delightful pieces with the slow and melancholy Air contrasting nicely with the up-tempo Gigue complete with percussion and shades of Canarios.
Altogether this is a nice addition to the classical guitar repertoire and would realistically be more suited to the grade 6 player.
