This set of pieces is a different prospect to another recent publication of works by the same composer in that these three works are aimed at the higher-grade player (around grade 7 -8) and are obviously intended for the concert platform. As a set they work really well with some nice lyricism and even nicer rhythms. The opening piece Pa' La Maria-Anita has some especially interesting harmony and has become a personal favourite from the three. Well-presented and well-written music, which would make an ideal choice for the South American slot in a programme.
