Une Allée au Bois is a very entertaining and appealing composition in a Mazurka style. It is very much in the fashion of Tárrega and is great fun to play. During its four pages the Iyricism never lets up and there are some delightful moments scattered throughout the piece. In direct contrast Comme une Étoile is a quasi flamenco styled piece with a gentle introduction which makes some nice use of harmonics. Passing through several short sections of different character the piece ends in rapid arpeggios followed by some explosive strumming. These pieces would ideally suit the grade 7 player looking for some new and interesting music. Presentation is very good.
