Danse is subtitled «Hommage a Leo Brouwer« and bears some of the Cuban composer's trademarks, most notably in the rhythmic department.
There are some truly stirring rhythmic permutations scattered throughout this work with several percussive passages which all adds to the interest. At times the musical lines are reinforced by two guitars playing exactly the same notes which, when the parts go their separate ways, all adds to the excitement.
This is a composition which well merits more than a passing glance by any quartet of high technical standard.
