Description

Quite an interesting set of six pieces here from a composer whose name is new to me. Preludes 1. 4, 5 and 6 are arpeggio in style, number 6 being particularly attractive, resembling a Bach invention.
Prelude 3 is an aggressive one built solely around block chords while Prelude 2 has a good, strong animated forward motion. There are no strong melodic lines to latch onto in this set but the pieces are attractive and, at times, exciting. To perform the whole six in a concert would probably be a little too much, but a selection of three or four might be a good idea for a new, modern item. A technique of around Niveau 6-7 will be needed to attempt these works.
