Description

The Ballad, which has G and D tuning for strings 5 and 6, has a light airy, almost folk-influenced style of quietly undulating quaver arpeggios against gently dissonant basses... Only two pages long, it is over almost before it has begun: only moderately difflcult.
The Tonada in Gm is considerably more advanced... It has a nice Latin-American feel throughout and it is not too daunting harmonically speaking. The piece ends quietly with a return to the musIc of the introduction. Pleasant, unassuming, nothing too challenging musically: a pair which a higher grade player might like to tackle...
