Description

The Sonatina op.27, originally written in 1958 by John W. Duarte and premiered by John Williams, was rewritten in 1999 for four guitars and renamed Sonatina di Primavera. The piece features a short development section in the first movement, unusual key changes, and a rondo theme à la Handel. The piece has been edited by Quartetto Santórsola, with corrections and additions based on the solo guitar edition. The work is praised for its freshness, originality and perfect balance between solo and quartet parts.
