I think the succinct description: «unashamedly romantic with a touch of melancholia« would be just about as faithful a description of this little piece by French composer Jean-Marie Raymond as one could write.
Composed firmly in the style of a waltz, As Always glides along in a positive manner and has a pleasant melodic line which never dwindles away. The piece is in the very guitar-friendly key of E minor but the composer indicates that the work should be played with a capo at fret two, giving the sound of F sharp minor. As Always has some good suggestions with regard to lef-hand fingering and, as usual (indeed as always) from this publisher, the presentation of the score and the front cover is excellent.
Highly suitable material for the Grade 4+ player.
