Description

This short composition written in the style of this ever popular South American dance form is dedicated to the composer's good friend Ernesto Longa.
The piece contains most of the traits one comes to expect from the majority of the output of this composer, that is: appealing harmonies, a good tune and interesting chord sequences. There is something rather satisfying about playing this type of music where the slightly hypnotic slow rhythm of the style blended together with the, at times, haunting chord progressions, just carry you through to the conclusion on a relaxing musical journey.
Probably ideally suited to the grade 5+ player, this miniature would make for an ideal student concert piece. The edition (complete with yet another eye-catching front cover) is presented in excellent fashion and the music is very well fingered.
What a fantastic stroke of luck having a friend with the surname «Longa«, thus enabling Kleynjans to write this attractive work and use a very clever pun for the title. (I am now looking to make friends with anyone with the name Alfonse Legretto - any offers?).
