Description

Sonata for Clarinet and Guitar was commissioned and premiered by Émile Fend and An-

dreas Hermanski, and it is dedicated to them. It was composed between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022. The piece was recorded for the first time by the same duo in the album “21st Century Works for Clarinet and Guitar”, released by Naxos in 2024.

The piece is in three movements, where the second is the emotional core of the composition: a dark, evocative and melancholic moment, framed by the other two movements, which are light and bright in character instead.
